Tarantino, Lelouch, and Lee Chang-dong films open in Italy
Three major films open in Italian cinemas this week: Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', Claude Lelouch's 'The Best Years of a Life', and Lee Chang-dong's 'Burning'. Tarantino's ninth film, set in 1969 Los Angeles, stars Leonardo DiCaprio as actor Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt as his stunt double Cliff Booth, with a cast including Margot Robbie, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, and Emile Hirsch. It premiered at Cannes 2019 and is distributed in Italy by Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia in 800 copies. Lelouch's film is the third chapter in the story of Anne and Jean-Louis, originally from 'A Man and a Woman', starring Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimée. It is distributed by Europictures. Lee Chang-dong's 'Burning', inspired by a Haruki Murakami story, premiered at Cannes 2018 and is distributed by Tucker Film. Additionally, Chiara Ferragni's documentary 'Chiara Ferragni Unposted', directed by Elisa Amoruso and presented at the 76th Venice Film Festival, screens from September 17-19. Critic Paolo Mereghetti of Corriere della Sera called it 'North Korean propaganda film, unclassifiable'.
