Tania Bruguera's stained-glass artwork, titled 'Towards a Civic Museum,' has been unveiled at V&A East in East London. Crafted by Richard Paton at Rainbow Glass Studio, it showcases a map of East London alongside floral designs from diverse cultural backgrounds, featuring a silver-stained fox that adds a local element. The text of the contract is etched in lead lines, reflecting institutional promises. Positioned to face west, it interacts with light to enhance public engagement. This piece evolves from workshops with the Youth Collective and builds on the 'Common Manifesto' introduced at Bow Arts in December 2024, critiquing museum authority while advocating for local community accountability.
