Tamara Repetto's 'Circuiti di Senso' Explores Olfactory Art at Gaggenau Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The exhibition 'Circuiti di Senso' by Tamara Repetto (Genova, 1973) is on view until July 18 at the Gaggenau showroom in Milan, curated by Sabino Maria Frassà. The show focuses on olfaction, following previous exhibitions on touch by Fulvio Morella and Franco Mazzucchelli. Installations and sculptures interact with Gaggenau's stone tables and cooktops. A highlight is the site-specific installation 'Meccano,' consisting of three Dekton cubes with a central hole emitting fragrances evoking nature, created in collaboration with fragrance designer Caterina Roncati. Frassà describes Repetto's work as combining smell with matter to create multisensory, immersive art that explores deep interiority. The works create 'sensory short-circuits,' challenging rational epistemology: soap and earth do not smell, while metal, glass, and roots trigger olfactory experiences. This rupture generates new 'circuits of sense' where meaning and signifier recombine infinitely.
