TAG Torino Art Galleries Launches Ouverture #9 Amid Pandemic Challenges

Thirteen galleries from the historic association TAG – Torino Art Galleries are launching Ouverture #9 in Turin from December 10 to 12, 2020, after the postponement of the November art week due to COVID-19 restrictions. The initiative is supported by Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT and the Chamber of Commerce of Turin. TAG, founded in 2000, aims to promote contemporary art locally and has collaborated with institutions like GAM and the City of Turin. Vice president Raffaella De Chirico emphasized the importance of cohesion and mutual support during this difficult period. Galleries will open with ongoing or new exhibitions, following anti-COVID protocols. President Valerio Tazzetti stated that the event reasserts the role of Turin's galleries as key players in a suffering sector. Gallerist Riccardo Costantini noted the privilege of visual arts businesses compared to cinema, live music, and theater, which are forced to remain closed.
