Symposium Explores Artistic Research for Equitable Planetary Futures

On April 20, 2026, a symposium named EcoFutures: Planetary Thinking and Infrastructures will be held, organized by Jessica Wan from TrAIN and Angel Leung of Videotage. This event, co-hosted by Videotage and the Research Centre for Transnational Art, Identity and Nation (TrAIN) at UAL, receives backing from Afterall and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. The program features panel discussions, performance-lectures, and workshops aimed at exploring how artistic research can reveal, engage with, and envision just planetary futures. It utilizes ecology and planetary thinking as interconnected perspectives, with ecology focusing on the connections between organisms and their surroundings, while planetary thinking frames these discussions within a critical, interdisciplinary context that views Earth as an interconnected system.
