Symposium 'Always on My Mind' Explores Art and Neuroscience at Centro Pecci

The Centro Pecci in Prato hosted a two-day symposium titled 'Always on My Mind' on November 10-11, 2012, examining the intersection of art and neuroscience. The event featured dialogues, workshops, and talks by artists, neuroscientists, and economists. On Saturday, Marco Bazzini and Cesare Pietroiusti opened with a dialogue, followed by a workshop led by Marta Dell'Angelo and Ludovica Lumer. Scholars David Freedberg and Ugo Morelli, along with economists Anna Simioni and Catterina Seia, addressed topics such as the power of the visible, multimedia, and innovation. Sunday included sessions with Marzia Migliora, Arabella Natalini, Vittorio Gallese, Semir Zeki, and Michelangelo Pistoletto, who presented a new stage of his Rebirth-day project, curated by the Education Department of Castello di Rivoli, involving collective reinterpretation of the Third Paradise symbol. The symposium aimed to develop an in-depth discourse on the common ground of phenomenology between art and neuroscience, emphasizing the enigmatic nature of the mind as the source of knowledge, character, and creative action.
