Syd Barrett Documentary on Sky Arte Explores Pink Floyd Founder's Enigma

Sky Arte will air the documentary 'Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd' on Wednesday, October 15. Directed by Roddy Bogawa and featuring Storm Thorgerson, the film pieces together the enigmatic life of Syd Barrett, the founder and first leader of Pink Floyd, who died in 2006. The documentary includes special footage, rare backstage clips of Barrett, unpublished photographs, and an exceptional soundtrack. It covers Barrett's rise and fall, his departure from the band, and his life after leaving the music industry—two solo albums followed by thirty years of reclusion, even as Pink Floyd achieved global fame and record sales. The film questions whether Barrett was a victim of 1960s drug culture, retreated from commercial music pressures, or suffered from an undiagnosed mental illness.
