Swiss architecture talks and exhibition in Rome

From October 11 to November 8, 2016, the Casa dell'Architettura in Rome will feature a series of lectures and an exhibition focused on modern Swiss architecture, organized by Arianna Callocchia for the Swiss Embassy in Italy and the Casa dell'Architettura. The lectures, entitled 'Architettura contemporanea in Svizzera. I nuovi Musei e centri culturali', will investigate the interplay between urban areas and new museums, highlighting effective examples that connect with the community, urban environment, and various stakeholders. Notable projects include Ivano Gianola's LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, the Museo Nazionale Zurigo's extension, and the Kunstmuseum Basel by Christ & Gantenbein, along with Barozzi/Veiga's Museo d'Arte dei Grigioni Coira and mcb-a at Plateforme10 in Lausanne. A range of speakers, such as Ugo Soragni and Michael Gagnon, will contribute to the discussions. The exhibition 'Architettura in Svizzera. Dialogo tra storia e contemporaneità' showcases important projects from 2010 to 2020, examining landscape interventions and existing contexts, and has been updated from its previous version in Catania.
