Swedish Institute's Surreal Fashion Exhibition 'Tout est en ordre'
The Institut Suédois in Paris presents 'Tout est en ordre. C'est vite dit !', an exhibition curated by Nicole Walker that subverts Swedish codes of order and restraint through fashion and art. Running from September 2 to October 4, 2026, the show transforms everyday gestures like queuing into surreal tableaux, featuring mannequins with impossible proportions and blurred identities. Garments from established and emerging designers—including Love is Shouty but Iconic, LLL, Hodakova, Our Legacy, and Per Götesson—are displayed alongside works by artists such as Anna Uddenberg and Anton Alvarez, blending sculpture, sound, and image without hierarchy. The exhibition challenges the notion of 'good taste' by juxtaposing humor and the strange with the ordinary, as seen in details like a white shirt, a tie over the eyes, a pink heel, and a swan companion. Clothing is passed between generations, highlighting a living, fragile system of fashion. The venue, located at 11 rue Payenne, 75003, is open Tuesday to Sunday from 12h to 19h (until 21h on Thursdays), closed Mondays, with free entry.
