Suzuki Italia launches ARThletes project with four Italian illustrators for Burgman 400
Suzuki Italia has launched ARThletes, a project commissioning four Italian illustrators to create works for the new Burgman 400 scooter, conceived as an 'elegant athlete'. Curated by gallerist Lorenza Salamon of Salamon Fine Art in Milan and illustrator Ale Giorgini, the selected artists are Gianluca Folì, Riccardo Guasco, Francesco Poroli, and Van Orton. Each will interpret qualities of the scooter—elegance, sportiness, stability, and safety—paired with Olympic sports: diving, athletics, artistic gymnastics, and fencing. The project aims to highlight the link between sport, the Olympics, Japan, and the scooter through a digital exhibition and a contest to select one artwork for the scooter's livery. Enrico Bessolo, Commercial Director of Suzuki Italia, stated the concept originated from 'the elegant athlete'. Giorgini emphasized illustration as a universal language that connects people and cultures, especially during pandemic restrictions. The final works will be presented online and on social media.
