Suzanne Wallinga Named General Director of Museum Cobra
Suzanne Wallinga has been appointed general director of Museum Cobra in Amstelveen, starting 1 October. She will lead the museum alongside financial director Cor Dinkgreve. Wallinga co-founded and directed A Tale of a Tub in Rotterdam, served as interim director of Amsterdam Art, and was artistic director of TAG in The Hague. She also held board positions at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam and Shimmer in Rotterdam. Museum Cobra, founded in 1995, focuses on the avant-garde Cobra movement (1948–1951), featuring artists like Karel Appel, Constant, and Sonja Ferlov Mancoba, alongside contemporary exhibitions and cultural exchange. Wallinga emphasized art's role in fostering dialogue and connection. Supervisory Board chairman Jerry Straub praised her original perspective and entrepreneurial spirit.
