Susy Gómez and Alfredo Romano in Dialogue at Galleria Giorgio Persano, Turin

Galleria Giorgio Persano in Turin presents two simultaneous exhibitions: Susy Gómez's 'Via Nuova' and new works by Alfredo Romano. Gómez's show features large-format photographs of female bodies from glossy magazines, printed on aluminum and partially masked with painterly interventions to explore identity and female iconography. The centerpiece is two golden sculptures evoking her own body, cast in porcelain during a performance, coated in gold patina, referencing ancient female icons. Romano's exhibition in the garden includes two benches connected by a metal segment emitting a sonic litany, alongside historical and new works on aluminum depicting Sicily's millennial heritage and social conflicts, covered in black tar. Music by Giuseppe Gavazza provides relief. The exhibitions are on view at Palazzo Scaglia di Verrua.
