Susan Bee's New Paintings at A.I.R. Gallery and Collaboration with Charles Bernstein

From May 25 to June 19, 2011, A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn will host Susan Bee's solo exhibition titled 'Recalculating: New Paintings.' A painter and book artist based in New York City, Bee presents hand-drawn and collaged interpretations of excerpts from 'Before You Go,' a poem by Charles Bernstein composed in July and August 2010, dedicated to their daughter Emma, who passed away in 2008. Bernstein, a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, will also commemorate his book 'Attack of the Difficult Poems: Essays and Inventions' on June 11 from 4-6 pm at A.I.R. Gallery. Bee has worked with Bernstein on five books, created 13 artist's books, co-edited 'M/E/A/N/I/N/G' with Mira Schor, and teaches at the School of Visual Arts.
