Supreme skateboard collection sells for $800,000 at Sotheby's

market-auction · 2026-05-04

Ryan Fuller, a Los Angeles-based collector, sold his complete archive of 280 Supreme skateboards through Sotheby's for $800,000. The collection, assembled over 13 years, was displayed at Sotheby's New York galleries in January, attracting art collectors, designers, skaters, and brand fans. The sale highlights the convergence of high-end art business and street culture. Supreme, originally a New York skate shop, has collaborated with artists including Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Rammellzee, and George Condo. Hirst's 2009 Spin and Spots series featured his signature polka dots on skate decks, while Koons created the Monkey Train design. The complete collection of boards from collaborations with Rammellzee and George Condo was shown for the first time. Noah Wunsch, Sotheby's global head of e-commerce, noted the collection's rarity as the only complete private archive of Supreme decks, and said the response from collectors and fans was overwhelming.
