Supervoid Architects designs hybrid food shop Pizzicarola in Rome

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

In Rome's Monteverde district, a new culinary establishment named Pizzicarola has opened its doors at Viale di Villa Pamphili 141-143, created by founders Carola Calò and Alessandro Miocchi. The shop specializes in fresh, seasonal, and ethically sourced products from Italian vendors, featuring items like Foradori cheeses and Re Norcino cured meats, along with natural personal care products and books from Edizioni Quinto Quarto. The design, crafted by Supervoid Architects—established in 2016 by Benjamin Gallegos Gabilondo and Marco Provinciali—boasts movable furniture and a vibrant market-like setting. Supervoid Architects has previously showcased their work at the Venice Biennale and is currently engaged in various initiatives, including the Tenuta della Mistica redevelopment in Rome, expected to finish by spring 2022.
