Superstudio Più Turns 20: Design's Answer to the Virus
Superstudio Più, a design center in Milan established in 2000 by Gisella Borioli and Flavio Lucchini, was poised to mark its 20th anniversary in April 2020, but the pandemic interfered with those plans. Situated at Via Tortona 27 in a repurposed General Electric factory, it has showcased works from renowned designers such as Ettore Sottsass and Patricia Urquiola. Giulio Cappellini introduced new talents there in 2000. Over the years, it has become a hub of creativity, mirroring the transformation of the Ansaldo area into MUDEC. Highlights include installations like Rhizomatiks' Lexus pathway and Kengo Kuma's project for Dassault. Borioli is also working on a digital initiative and a book detailing the venue's history.
