Superestudio's Hermi House transforms emptiness into architectural threshold

architecture-design · 2026-04-19

Superestudio completed the Hermi House in 2019, a residential project spanning 400 square meters. The architectural firm, led by Nacho Marí with project team members Nacho López and Rubén Jiménez, designed the structure under the curatorial direction of Valentina Díaz. Photographer David Frutos documented the completed work. According to the architects' description, the house centers on a window that functions as a dense threshold where light, movement, and daily life are transformed into architectural elements. This conceptual approach defines the project's exploration of emptiness as a filled space.
