Super Mario Galaxy film trailer reveals Bowser Jr. and Brie Larson as Rosalinda
Nintendo and Illumination have released the first trailer for Super Mario Galaxy – Il film, the second animated feature based on the Super Mario franchise. The trailer picks up where the 2023 film left off, with Bowser reduced to miniature size in a reeducation castle. He is freed by his son Bowser Jr., a character introduced in Super Mario Sunshine (2002) and armed with a magic paintbrush; Bowser Jr. can transform into the Wonder form seen in Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2023). The film's antagonist appears to be Bowser Jr., voiced by Benny Safdie in the original English version. The movie draws primarily from Super Mario Galaxy (2007) and Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2010), originally for Wii and now re-released on Nintendo Switch in the Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection. Returning voice actors include Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser. New addition Brie Larson voices Rosalinda, the Guardian of the Stars, a character from the Galaxy games. The film explores a galaxy of small planets each with its own gravity.
