Sunn O))) performs apocalyptic ritual at Labirinto della Masone in Parma

On an unspecified date in September 2016, the drone metal band Sunn O))) performed a concert titled 'Finis Mundi' at the Labirinto della Masone in Fontanellato, Parma, Italy. The event was a spatiotemporal crossroads of recurrences, cults, and omens, commemorating Jorge Luis Borges thirty years after his death. Franco Maria Ricci, founder of the labyrinth, published Borges's last book 'Finimondi' with illustrations by John Martin, which were evoked in projections by studio N!03, following opening drums by Fudentaiko. The audience was initiated through an esoteric path along the labyrinth to the central pyramid. The band members—Stephen O'Malley, Greg Anderson, and Attila Csihar, with Tos Nieuwenhuizen and Steve Moore—performed at 11 PM. Csihar appeared atop the pyramid as an anchorite, observing and lamenting the new Middle Ages. The performance featured red smoke, drone guitars, and a finale where Csihar transformed into a faceless deity crowned with spikes. The concert lasted two hours and twenty minutes, described as a unique and unrepeatable apocalyptic event.
