Sunlight Ibex 4×4 Camper Van Enters Production After Arctic Testing
German RV manufacturer Sunlight has announced the production of its Ibex 4×4 camper van, following a successful concept debut last year. The rugged vehicle, built on an all-wheel-drive Volkswagen Crafter chassis, underwent a year of testing in Iceland and the Faroe Islands, leading to refinements in its fiberglass roof, which now offers six-and-a-half feet of interior headroom, better awning integration, and a new light bar. Exterior color options include Desert Sand, Glacier Blue, Lava Black, and Stormy Gray. Inside, the Ibex features a rear passenger seat, kitchenette, compact bathroom with toilet and stand-up shower, and a full-size mattress. Orders begin in August; pricing is unannounced but expected to exceed the Fiat Ducato-based Vanlife model starting at £61,690 ($84,000). Sunlight has not confirmed US availability.
