Summer Art in Puglia: Giuseppe Teofilo at Exchiesetta and Atlante Mediterraneo at Castello di Acaya
At the Exchiesetta gallery in Polignano a Mare, visitors can explore Giuseppe Teofilo's 'Floatings Paintings' alongside sculptures reminiscent of boat timbers. Teofilo, born in 1981, continues the legacy of artists Rebecca Ward and Giampietro Carlesso. The gallery also features the summer program of Fondazione Pino Pascali, showcasing works by the Chapman brothers, Jan Fabre, Studio Azzurro, and Nathalie Djurberg. In Salento, the 'Atlante Mediterraneo' exhibition at Castello di Acaya, organized by the Istituto di Culture Mediterranee in collaboration with Fondazione Pino Pascali and Museo Castromediano di Lecce, runs until August 21. This exhibition includes thirteen contemporary artists, including Teofilo, and is part of the Vive le cinéma ACAYA festival (July 13–17), directed by Brizia Minerva, Angelo Laudisa, and Alessandro Valenti. Curator Rosalba Branà remarked, "Discussing the Mediterranean today involves reflecting on our history, explaining the present, and envisioning the future."
