Summer Art Highlights Across Korea Feature Warhol, Paik, Gilliam and Cross-Cultural Micromuseums
This summer, South Korea is hosting a variety of exhibitions. The 'You&Me__' exhibit at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Gwacheon, running until 11 December, showcases eight artists, including Choi Hochul and Andy Warhol, and explores themes of selfhood and community. At the Nam June Paik Art Center, 'Humor Has It' will be available until 2 February, featuring works from artists like Yoko Ono and Joseph Beuys that examine humor's capacity to challenge societal norms. In Seoul, Pace Gallery presents nine new paintings by Sam Gilliam until 10 July. Additionally, temporary micromuseums 'Little asjc' in Aarhus and 'Little ka' in Seoul will display various artists' works through November and December.
