Summer 2020 Art Exhibitions in Turin: From Egyptian Museum to GAM

Turin's museums are open in August 2020 with reduced hours, offering several exhibitions. At the Museo Egizio, 'Lo sguardo dell’antropologo' displays artifacts from the MAET (Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the University of Turin), including a recently restored mummy from Gebelein, open daily until end of September. The Reggia di Venaria Reale presents 'Sfida al Barocco. Roma Torino Parigi 1680-1750' with 207 works from institutions like the Louvre, Metropolitan, and Getty Museum, until September 20. GAM Torino hosts 'Helmut Newton, Works' curated by Matthias Harder, featuring 68 photographs including Vogue covers and portraits of Andy Warhol, Gianni Agnelli, and others, until September 20. CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia presents 'Memoria e Passione. Da Capa a Ghirri. Capolavori dalla Collezione Bertero' with over 300 prints from Guido Bertero's collection, including works by Robert Capa, Luigi Ghirri, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, until August 30. The Pinacoteca Albertina shows 'Incanti Russi' curated by Salvo Bitonti, with 22 large-scale paintings from the Glazunov Academy of Moscow, created between 1999 and 2019, reflecting socialist realism and Russian folklore.
