Sudarshan Shetty Appointed Artistic Director for 2016 Kochi-Muziris Biennale
Sudarshan Shetty will serve as artistic director and curator for the third Kochi-Muziris Biennale in India, scheduled for 2016. His practice involves sculptural and multimedia installations that address ontological questions about human engagement with objects. Shetty participated as an artist in the biennale's first edition in 2012, which was curated by Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Constructs Constructions' at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art in New Delhi in 2015 and 'A Passage' at the Staatliche Museum in Schwerin, Germany, also in 2015. Other notable shows are 'Every Broken Moment, Piece by Piece' at GALLERYSKE in New Delhi in 2014, 'Critical Mass' at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in 2012, and 'Indian Highway' at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing in 2012.
