Suchi Reddy and Calico Wallpaper Launch Neuroaesthetic Wallpaper Collection
Architect Suchi Reddy, founder of Reddymade, has collaborated with Calico Wallpaper founders Nick and Rachel Cope to create Luminous, a wallpaper collection informed by neuroaesthetics. The collection, debuting during NYCxDesign in May, features six patterns designed to evoke emotional responses through gradients and color. Reddy's mantra "form follows feeling" guided the process, treating wallpaper as a medium that engages perception and changes with light. Rachel Cope, a painter, executed hand-painted washes at full scale, with patterns like Beam and Flash exploring tonal shifts. The collection will be installed at Calico Wallpaper's Tribeca showroom, allowing visitors to experience how subtle color variations alter perception. Reddy and the Copes share an interest in how interiors convey movement and presence, with previous Calico collections channeling aura photography and excavated terrain.
