Sublime Sand Resort Opens in Comporta, Portugal's Jet-Set Hotspot

Sublime Sand, a new luxury resort in Comporta, Portugal, opened today, expanding the Sublime hospitality brand. The property, developed by former pilot Gonçalo Pessoa, features 43 villas with private pools and indoor-outdoor fireplaces, designed by Lisbon-based Fragmentos and architect José Charrua. Rates start at $1,400 per night. The resort includes nine restaurants, a beach club, Kid's Club, spa, tennis and padel courts, and event space for 450 people. New dining options include Beefbar from Monte Carlo and Davvero from Sublime Lisbon. Sublime Sand targets families and large groups, contrasting with the earlier Sublime Terracotta which focuses on couples. Pessoa first visited Comporta in 2001 and opened the original Sublime hotel in 2014.
