Studiopepe launches Instagram-only design gallery Île Flottante
Milan-based interior design and creative consultancy Studiopepe, founded by Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara di Pinto, launched Île Flottante, an online design gallery operating exclusively on Instagram. The project, conceived during the COVID-19 lockdown, sells unique vintage and contemporary design objects that are no longer in production. Lelli Mami selects pieces based on a broad contemporaneity, avoiding antiques or items with strong temporal connotations. Di Pinto chose a blue-and-white Dutch bottle as emblematic, while Lelli Mami selected two Moroccan candlesticks made by a Maghreb desert community. The founders hope to eventually open a physical space. The gallery's name references a French meringue dessert, suggesting a floating, memory-like experience.
