Studioconcreto Opens in Lecce with Antonio Della Guardia Solo Show

A new private art space, Studioconcreto, has opened in Lecce, Italy, founded by artist Luca Coclite and curator Laura Perrone. The inaugural exhibition features recent works by Antonio Della Guardia (born 1990, Salerno) exploring precarity and the public-private dichotomy. The space is located in an INA-Casa housing complex, a post-war reconstruction project blending rationalism and neorealism, which the founders see as a lens to examine changing private needs amid contemporary social scenarios. Studioconcreto aims to foster community engagement and interdisciplinary research, drawing inspiration from Experimental Intermedia in New York (1968) and the Spigolizzi house-studio of Norman Mommens and Patience Gray in Salve. The exhibition runs until December 26, with additional related events planned. The founders emphasize a responsibility to neighborhood and community, filling a gap in Lecce's contemporary art scene, which lacks galleries focused on current languages. Other notable non-profit spaces in the region include Ramdom in Gagliano del Capo and Fondazione Lac O Le Mon in San Cesario, founded by artists including Cesare Pietroiusti.
