Studio Yellowdot presents Barilla-sponsored pasta furniture installation at Milan Design Week

During Milan Design Week, designers Bodin Hon and Dilara Kan Hon of Studio Yellowdot unveiled "Edible Reveries," a furniture installation featuring pasta-themed creations. The project is sponsored by Barilla, the global pasta manufacturer, through its specialty brand Artisia by Barilla. Located in Milan's Porta Venezia district, the installation showcases unusual pasta shapes like the quadrilateral Cube, star-shaped Sky, and Bunny, all designed using software and produced with 3-D printing technology. Studio Yellowdot, based in Istanbul and Hong Kong, previously presented eggshell-based works at the 2025 Milan Design Week, including floor lamps, kinetic sculptures, and tabletop objects. The designers noted that traditional pasta consumption lacks grace, prompting their innovative approach. Valentina Parravicini, head of Artisia by Barilla, described the initiative as an experiment exploring disruptive industry innovations, emphasizing that 3-D printing enables impossible shapes and offers a new way to enjoy pasta. The Artisia brand was launched in 2014 to push culinary boundaries, with the current project blending technology, art, and consumables in an offbeat display.
