Studio WOK's WAO Kitchen Blurs Corporate Boundaries in Milan

WAO Kitchen, the inaugural establishment in the WAO – We Are Open network, has been crafted by Studio WOK and is situated in Milan's Bassi Business Park. This restaurant, nestled within a corporate complex designed by OBR, plays a vital role in the WAO Bassi co-working environment. Studio WOK's design approach starts with a fully glazed facade, blurring the lines between the inside and the outside world. A striking metal framework wrapped in corrugated polycarbonate enhances the street-facing side, altering how pedestrians view the space. A sizable pivoting window at the bar connects directly to the sidewalk. The interior is open and flexible, featuring opaline fabric curtains instead of fixed walls. The material selection includes pink-tinted concrete flooring by 70Materia, polycarbonate, galvanized metal, Celenit acoustic panels, and Okoumé wood, while lighting is provided by Egoluce and Pholc Apollo 59 pendants. Diverse tables and seating from Belca complete the furnishings. This project showcases Studio WOK's spatial expertise, reminiscent of their Pan Deli in Milan.
