Studio UF+O inverts Rajasthan haveli with edge courtyards
Studio Urban Form + Objects (Studio UF+O), based in Mumbai, has finalized the construction of House Between Walls in Rewatra, Rajasthan, designed for a multigenerational family. Situated on a 9-by-24-meter lot bordered by low-rise buildings on three sides, the architects erected three-story walls along the longer sides, incorporating open-to-sky courtyards that serve as deep light wells to facilitate natural ventilation in an area with inconsistent electricity. The residence boasts a glass-block facade that faces the village square. Founding architects Prachi Parekh Vora and Vineet J. Vora previously clad a house in Andhra Pradesh with black granite in 2025 and enveloped a rural home in Rajasthan with a CNC-cut stone jaali facade in 2024.
