Studio Other Spaces: Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann's Collaborative Design at Kunst Meran

The exhibition 'The Design of Collaboration' at Kunst Meran/o Arte in Merano, Italy, showcases the work of Studio Other Spaces, founded by artist Olafur Eliasson (Copenhagen, 1967) and architect Sebastian Behmann (Hanover, 1969). Curated by Christiane Rekade, the show presents projects, objects, prototypes, and models developed through collaboration with local artisans and experts, emphasizing sustainable and site-specific design. A highlight is the Meles Zenawi Memorial Park in Addis Ababa (2013-2020), a collaboration between Berlin and the Ethiopian capital, viewable in Merano via VR projections. The exhibition also features objects from the Lyst Restaurant at Fjordenhus in Vejle, Denmark, including a grill replicated for the show with support from the Talking Waters Society. Studio Other Spaces integrates local architectural forms and materials with their own spatial and light concepts.
