Studio NEiDA Designs The Falcon Cinema in Ghana, a Community Art Centre Dedicated to African Film
The Falcon Cinema, set to open in Berekuso, Ghana, is being developed by Studio NEiDA under the direction of film curator Jacqueline Nsiah. Its mission is to preserve Africa’s cinematic legacy and encourage discussions about contemporary filmmaking from a pan-African perspective. The cinema will feature two screening rooms with 250 and 150 seats, a restaurant, an archive, educational facilities, and an outdoor cinema. There's also a plan for a dedicated space for resident filmmakers. The project kicked off in 2024 and aims to be finished by 2027. Its design, inspired by Asante architecture, includes four buildings around a courtyard, using local materials for natural cooling. In 2026, it received the Europe 40 Under 40 Architecture and Design Award.
