Studio Hallett Ike renovates Victorian lodge in London cemetery
Studio Hallett Ike has completed the renovation and extension of Cemetery House, a Grade II-listed Victorian lodge in Paddington Cemetery, Kilburn, London. Originally designed by Thomas Little in 1855 as a vicarage, the gothic-style building now features a ground-floor extension with full-height glass doors opening to a refurbished garden, and a first-floor addition housing a dressing room and ensuite bathroom. The design blends the original gothic character with Mediterranean and mid-century Californian influences, using pale Petersen Kolumba brick, Pippy oak storage, and a micro-cement bath with travertine sinks. The studio, founded in 2018 by Jonty Hallett and Madeleine Ike, previously refurbished a Victorian townhouse in east London and added a dark brick extension to a London flat.
