Studio Gang Completes Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center for Hudson Valley Shakespeare

The Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center has officially opened in Garrison, New York, marking the first permanent home for Hudson Valley Shakespeare. Designed by Studio Gang, led by Jeanne Gang, alongside Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects, this six-year project features a 451-seat open-air auditorium with a unique curved mass-timber grid shell. Construction began in September 2024, with ambitions for LEED Platinum certification and carbon neutrality by 2040. The theater's inaugural season will launch in June 2026, showcasing productions including As You Like It, King Lear, and Les Misérables.
