Studio Brandvries Completes Woonhuis Heenvliet, a Modern Extension in a Historic Dutch Village

Woonhuis Heenvliet, a residential extension designed by Studio Brandvries, sits on the edge of the historic village of Heenvliet in the Netherlands. The plot originally contained a house partially built on the footprint of a barn from a historic ensemble. The project encompasses 280 square meters and was finished in 2024. Lead architects Sander Brand and Tijs Niessen oversaw the design, with KVG Huizen in Hout serving as the general contractor. Martijn Vonck Fotografie documented the completed house, and Nina Vuga curated the presentation. Categorized as residential architecture and extension, the project responds to its rural context while updating the existing structure for contemporary living.
