Studio Azzurro's immersive Leonardo show at Palazzo Reale
Treccani, the Italian Encyclopedia Institute, commissioned Studio Azzurro to create a multimedia exhibition for the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death at Palazzo Reale in Milan. The show, titled 'Leonardo. La macchina dell'immaginazione,' is radically non-philological and contains no original works. Curated with scientific consultant Edoardo Villata, it uses interactive installations, video art, and sound to engage visitors. Sections include machines like a 'prospettografo' for perspective drawing, a microphone-activated display of Leonardo's words, a balance representing his ambiguous stance on war, an anatomical table revealing body interiors via flashlight, and a painting section showing light changes on famous works. Director Massimo Brai emphasized the goal of education and cultural dissemination over entertainment. Studio Azzurro's signature 'tavoli sensibili' and other technologies foster interaction and knowledge.
