Studi Festival: Artist-Run Open Studios and Horizontal Exchange in Milan

The Studi Festival, an artist-led event in Milan, opens its private studios to the public for five days, encouraging interaction and change. Established by Anna Stuart Tovini, Vincenzo Chiarandà, Claudio Corfone, and Rebecca Moccia, the festival focuses on fostering connections among artists. Participants invite fellow creatives to showcase their work in their studios, forming a collaborative network. There are three levels of participation: planning, operational, and social, with the planning stage being vital for artists to prepare for public engagement. The third edition included photography students from Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, under the direction of Paola Di Bello, and young bloggers documenting the happenings. The festival highlights autonomy, interactivity, and experimentation, acting as a hub for cultural production.
