Student protests erupt at New Delhi College of Art over curriculum and conditions
Since late August, protests by students at the College of Art in New Delhi have intensified, growing from an initial group of ten to over 200 participants. Protesters marched to both the Parliament building and the Chief Minister’s residence, while also occupying the school with graffiti and paintings. The demonstrations are aimed at addressing issues such as an outdated curriculum, inadequate teaching staff and resources, poor sanitation, and unclear financial management. Support has come from local artists, curators, and writers; however, faculty and administrative boards have refrained from engaging in direct discussions, providing no support or responses.
