Street Poster Art Invades Castellina Scalo with Six International Artists

From June 14 to September 25, 2017, the open-air exhibition 'Percorsi in Comune vol. I' brought street poster art to Castellina Scalo, a hamlet of Monteriggioni in Tuscany. Curated by Gaia Pasi, the project featured six international artists creating hand-drawn or plotter-printed paper posters installed on bus shelters, street signs, the Arci club, and the train station. The lineup included Clet Abraham, Pierluigi Pagni, Jacopo Pischedda, Colette Baraldi, BLUB, and Benedetto Cristofani. The works were inaugurated on October 6, 2017, during 'La Notte dell'Arte' event. A local elementary school student from G. Rodari school commented, 'Avete fatto carina Castellina' at the press conference. The project aimed to bring contemporary art into everyday spaces, bypassing traditional galleries to reach a broader audience. The initiative juxtaposes contemporary slang with the historic context of the area, fostering dialogue between the local community and global peripheries.
