Street artists paint sails for regatta in Monopoli
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Lega Navale Monopoli, a regatta featuring sails painted by street artists took place in Monopoli. The event was part of the exhibition 'In My Name. Above The Show,' curated by Martina Cavallarin, which explores the history and evolution of urban art. The exhibition is on view until November 3 at the Ex Deposito militare Carburanti, a regenerated space. Artists Won abc, Made514, Satone, Cento Canesio, and V3rbo painted the sails of boats crewed by young sailors aged 11 to 18 from the Lega Navale's competitive school. The route passed by Castello di Carlo V, Faro Rosso di Monopoli, Spiaggia Cala Porta Vecchia, and the Skeleton Valley skatepark. Leonardo Ciasca of Lega Navale Monopoli stated the mission is to restore an authentic relationship with the sea, especially for young people.
