Street Artists Create Urban Nativity Scene in Rome
Margutta Veggy Food & Art in Rome presents 'Margutta Stazione Urban', a group exhibition featuring eight street artists who reinterpret the Nativity scene through contemporary urban art styles. The show runs from December 15, 2016 to February 15, 2017. Participating artists include Beetroot, Gomez, Lucamaleonte, Moby Dick, m.sgarbi, omino71, Solo, and Daniele Tozzi. The works blend baroque, neo-pop, pop surrealism, and lettering to address pressing social issues. A charity auction will close the event on February 12, 2017, with proceeds benefiting Emergenza Sorrisi. Tina Vannini, owner of Il Margutta, states the project aims to provoke reflection on classic holiday symbols. The exhibition is curated by Francesca Barbi Marinetti.
