Street artist Andrea Villa posts 'Mio marito' posters in Turin to shame men from 'Mia moglie' Facebook group

In Turin, street artist Andrea Villa has pasted large posters titled 'Mio marito' (My Husband) in Lungo Dora Siena 108 and Corso Regina Margherita 50, featuring images of men involved in the 'Mia moglie' Facebook scandal. The group, with over 30,000 members, was used to share private photos of women without consent. Villa's work, as described on his Instagram, 'reverses the patriarchal gaze' by exposing the men publicly, with faces and contexts slightly altered. The artist highlights gender double standards, referencing a teacher fired for her OnlyFans activity, while men rarely face consequences. Writer Carolina Capria, who exposed the group and got it shut down, noted that hundreds of similar groups exist and that systemic change, not punishment, is needed. An investigation by Elisabetta Rosso for Fanpage revealed a vast network of chats sharing non-consensual intimate images, insults, and phone numbers for harassment. Villa's act is seen as a symbolic resistance but does not address the underlying patriarchal structure.
