Street art hostel for disabled youth opens in Verona

other · 2026-05-04

Stravagante Hostel, an 800-square-meter hospitality facility managed by young people with disabilities, opened in July 2018 in Verona. The structure was renovated by Cooperativa Sociale L’Officina dell’AIAS ONLUS to improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families, breaking down prejudice barriers. Guests handle tasks such as room cleaning, reception, managing the small restaurant, and the camper area. The RAME project, coordinated by street artist Andrea Crestani (aka Koes), decorated the hostel's interior and exterior walls with murals. RAME aims to involve as many people as possible in street art, collaborating with videomakers and photographers. For Stravagante Hostel, Koes selected artists Peeta (3D graffiti), Lucamaleonte (illustrative style), and Luca Font (geometric abstraction) to showcase diverse styles. RAME's latest project was a large mural by Ericailcane in Bassano del Grappa, spanning 50-55 meters in length and 2.5 to 6 meters in height, featuring a citation from his illustration '...ma l’amor mio non muore.' Koes is working on a project for spring 2019.
