Street Art Festival Without Frontiers Returns to Mantua's Lunetta District

The fifth edition of Without Frontiers, Lunetta a colori, a contemporary art festival focused on urban art and suburban regeneration, will take place in Mantua from August 31 to September 6, 2020. Organized by the association Caravan SetUp and curated by art critic Simona Gavioli, with scientific input from Lavinia Bottini, the festival is held in collaboration with cultural association Il Cerchio E Le Gocce and supported by the Municipality of Mantua and Tea. This year's edition is inspired by the universe of Alice in Wonderland. Gavioli explains that entering the Lunetta neighborhood feels like being transported into a marvelous and surreal world, much like Alice following the White Rabbit. The festival invites street artists Aris, Corn79, Howlers, Kiki Skipi, and Andrea Casciu to create new works. To date, 35 urban art pieces have been realized in Lunetta through the festival; with this year's interventions, the total will reach 38. Additionally, a special spin-off project transformed the Te Brunetti neighborhood library into an open-air museum, thanks to a mural by Corn79 and Made514 created from August 26 to 30. The two artists painted large works at the entrance of Te Brunetti, on the wall of the collection center on via Visi, aiming to reconnect residents with their library.
