Straperetana 2023: Feminist Art Takes Over Medieval Abruzzo Village
The medieval village of Pereto in Abruzzo has been transformed into an open-air gallery for the seventh edition of Straperetana, a contemporary art festival established by gallerist Paola Capata and Delfo Durante. Titled 'Ultramoderne,' this event showcases 30 pieces created by 18 female artists from Italy and abroad, many of whom explore feminist and historical narratives. The festival, which runs until September 10, 2023, features a portrait of the Greek philosopher Hypatia by Veronica Leffe as its emblem. Notable participants include Sonia Andresano, Ruth Beraha, and Tomaso Binga, among others.
