Straperetana 2022: Diffuse Art Exhibition in Abruzzo Village

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The summer of 2022 sees the return of the sixth edition of Straperetana in Pereto, Italy, curated by Saverio Verini and organized by Paola Capata and Delfo Durante. Entitled 'L'abaco rovesciato' (The Inverted Abacus), the exhibition delves into the dynamics between teachers and students, drawing inspiration from Marcel Duchamp and Italian art educators. Featured are site-specific installations by Lea Contestabile and Daniela d'Arielli, with Contestabile's tapestry 'Un paese ci vuole' displayed at Piazza del Castello, and d'Arielli's 'Legittimare' at Piazza San Giorgio, showcasing embroidered banners and scarlet thread. The main exhibition space, Palazzo Maccafani, includes works from Riccardo Baruzzi, Alek O., Cesare Pietroiusti, Namsal Siedlecki, and Margherita Moscardini. This exhibition will continue throughout the summer of 2022.
