Stochastic Resonance: Rome's experimental collective expands into multidisciplinary projects

other · 2026-05-04

Stochastic Resonance, an independent label and network of experimental artists founded in Rome, has grown from its 2012 origins as a promoter of the Aggregator festival into a multidisciplinary collective. The group, named after the physical phenomenon where a weak signal becomes stronger through added noise, now extends its research beyond music into performance, visual identity, and digital art. Lorenzo Ciciani (Scual) and Dario Colozza (Ynaktera) manage production and management. A recent collaboration between Carlo Cifarelli (BinaryCodedBrain) and Marco Malasomma produced the electro-acoustic album 'Jura' (SR 017), limited to 100 copies, with design by Jime Ghirlandi. The collective is developing a choral, multidisciplinary project focused on Rome, to be released across multiple platforms including a smartphone app.
