Steve McCurry's 'Food' Photography Exhibition in Ventimiglia
A photography exhibition by Steve McCurry, titled 'Food' (Cibo), has opened at Forte dell'Annunziata in Ventimiglia, Italy. The show, curated by Biba Giacchetti with design by Sudest57 and scenic installation by Peter Bottazzi, features 70 color photographs by the four-time World Press Photo winner. The exhibition is the first event of the 'Oltre il cibo' series, organized by Marina Development Corporation (MDC) with the patronage of the city of Ventimiglia. McCurry's images explore food as a direct expression of diverse cultures and territories, depicting scenes of fishing, agriculture, trade, and transport from locations such as Kashmir, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, and Yemen. The exhibition is part of a broader urban redevelopment project by MDC, which includes transforming former railway warehouses near the Nervia stream into a student campus and building new residential structures in harmony with the landscape. Ventimiglia's historic upper town and its famous Flower Market, celebrating its centenary, provide a colorful backdrop. The show runs at Forte dell'Annunziata, a 19th-century seaside fortress.
