Stephanie Wiles to retire from Yale University Art Gallery in 2027

Stephanie Wiles, the Henry J. Heinz II Director of the Yale University Art Gallery (YUAG) since 2018, will retire in spring 2027. The announcement was made by Yale University President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel, who praised Wiles for strengthening the gallery as a center for research, scholarship, and public engagement. Under her leadership, the gallery acquired significant works across all curatorial departments, deepening its commitment to its collection. Wiles' tenure has been marked by a focus on preserving, studying, and presenting art from diverse regions and time periods. The search for her successor will begin in the coming months.
